RAD DXC-30 Modular Digital Cross Connect D8HS - 8-Channel High-Speed Data Module Simple Type: I/O Module

Each D8HS module provides the DXC chassis with eight high-speed data channels. The module is supported by DXC systems with DCL.3 common logic, from version 9.0 and onwards. Each synchronous data channel supports data rates of n × 56 or n × 64 kbps (where n = 1 to 24 for T1 and 1 to 32 forE1 links). Channel data rates and all operating parameters are software selectable. Timeslots used on the E1 or T1 link can beuser-assigned or automatically selected. To provide buffered retiming of the received data, the user can select timing modes to configure each channel as eith DCE or DTE1/DTE2. An external clock can be selected as the source for system timing. Connection to national digital lines(such as DDS or Kilostream) is supported. Local support is provided for four control signals for each channel. Powerful testing capabilities and self-diagnostics upon power-up reduce downtime to a minimum. D8HS is supplied with a 200-pin high-density connector. To convert to the following interfaces, splitter cables are available from RAD (see Ordering): 8 × RS-442, 8 × V.35, 8 × X.21, 8 × RS-232. Interface selection is software controlled. The 3U-high version of the D8HS module occupies one I/O slot in a DXC-8R, DXC-10A, or DXC-30 chassis. The 6U-high version occupies one slot in a DXC-30E chassis.
